Velux & Roof Light Conversions

If your roof already has the head height, a Velux conversion keeps the roofline exactly as it is — insulation, floor, stairs and glazing within the existing slope. It is the quickest, simplest and most planning-friendly conversion there is.

No external structure changes, so conservation areas and front elevations stop being obstacles, scaffold time is short and the build runs weeks faster than a dormer. The trade-off is honest: you keep the sloping ceilings, so it suits roofs with generous ridge height — many of Bristol's Victorian terraces qualify.

We fit conservation-style roof lights where the street calls for them, insulate between and under the rafters to current standards, and plan the stair position so the landing arrives where the head room is.
