Introduction
This policy explains what personal information is collected through the Wilson & Cole Developments website, how it is used, and the control you have over it.
We’re a Bristol building brand. Non-essential cookies only run if you agree, and you can change your mind at any time.
This policy covers wilsonandcoledevelopments.co.uk (the “website”) — the online home of Wilson & Cole Developments Ltd, a Bristol building company (registered in England & Wales, no. 13362420). It explains how personal data is handled under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and should be read with our Terms & Conditions and the cookie banner shown on the site.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller — the organisation that decides how and why your personal data is processed through this website — is LOOM Brand Designs, which manages the website and its analytics and marketing on behalf of the Wilson & Cole Developments brand.
For any question or request about your data, contact us using the details above.
The information we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiry & contact details — your name, email, phone, postcode/location and the message or project details you send us.
- Project information — details needed to quote for and carry out building work you ask us about.
- Reviews & feedback — anything you choose to share with us.
Information collected automatically
Through cookies and similar technologies we and our providers may collect your device and browser type, approximate location (from your IP address), and how you use the site. Analytics and advertising data is only collected if you consent — see Cookies & tracking.
How and why we use your information
We only use personal data where the law allows. Our lawful bases are:
| What we do | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote | Legitimate interests / steps prior to a contract |
| Carry out building work we’ve agreed | Contract |
| Run and secure the website | Legitimate interests |
| Measure the site & advertise | Consent |
| Keep business, tax & warranty records | Legal obligation |
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time; where we rely on legitimate interests, we’ve checked they don’t override your rights.
Cookies & tracking technologies
Only strictly-necessary cookies run automatically. Analytics and advertising tools load only after you accept them — and you can change your choice any time.
Cookies are small files stored on your device; we also use pixels, tags and local storage. Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) we set non-essential cookies only with your prior consent, collected through our cookie banner. We group them as strictly necessary, analytics and advertising.

Only strictly-necessary items run automatically. Everything else loads solely after you accept it in our cookie banner. Filter by category:

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Website & security WordPress | Keeps the site working, remembers your cookie choices, and secures forms. | Necessary | Session & consent | — |

Managing your preferences
Accept or reject each category — and change your mind — using the cookie preferences control, or block cookies in your browser. You can also opt out of ad personalisation with Google, Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn.
Who we share your information with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary, with:
- Service providers — website hosting, email/CRM, and the analytics & advertising platforms listed above, under contracts that require them to protect your data.
- Trusted subcontractors and advisers (tradespeople, architects, engineers, accountants) where needed to quote for or deliver your project.
- Authorities where legally required, or to establish or defend legal claims and prevent fraud.
International data transfers
Some providers — including Google, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn and Microsoft — process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where data leaves the UK we rely on an approved safeguard, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (the ‘UK–US data bridge’) for certified organisations, and/or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Standard Contractual Clauses. Ask us for details of the safeguards in place.
Advertising, measurement & profiling
If you consent to advertising cookies, platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn may use the data to measure our campaigns and build audiences — this can involve profiling for marketing. We make no decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you based solely on automated processing. You can object to direct marketing and withdraw advertising consent at any time.
How long we keep your information
| Record | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that don’t become projects | Up to 24 months |
| Client & project records (contracts, invoices, warranties) | Up to 6 years after completion |
| Analytics data | Up to 14 months |
| Cookie-consent records | Up to 12 months, then we ask again |
| Marketing preferences | Until you withdraw consent |
When we no longer need your data, we securely delete or anonymise it.
How we protect your information
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures — HTTPS encryption, access controls, reputable hosting and providers, and limiting access to those who need it. No online transmission is ever completely secure, but we take protecting your data seriously and review our measures regularly.
Your rights over your data
You can see, correct, delete or move your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw consent — free of charge. Just email us.
Under UK data protection law you have the following rights. Select any to read more:
You have the right to be told how your personal data is used — that is the purpose of this policy.
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, free of charge, normally within one month.
If anything we hold is inaccurate or incomplete, you can ask us to correct or complete it.
You can ask us to delete your personal data where there is no good reason for us to keep it.
You can ask us to pause how we use your data while a query about it is resolved.
For data you gave us that we process by consent or contract, you can ask for it in a portable format.
You can object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time.
Where we rely on consent (e.g. analytics & advertising cookies), you can withdraw it at any time.
You have the right not to be subject to decisions with legal effects made solely by automation — we make none.
To exercise any right, email support@loombranddesigns.com. We’ll respond within one month, free of charge, and may first need to verify your identity.
Children’s privacy
Our website and services are aimed at homeowners, businesses and property professionals, not children. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.
