Two-Storey Extensions

Two storeys cost meaningfully less than twice one storey — the foundations, roof and scaffold are shared — and they solve two floors of a house at once.

A two-storey rear or side extension typically pairs the kitchen-diner below with a bedroom or family bathroom above. Planning permission is normally required, so these schemes start with drawings — prepared with our partner architects — and a design conversation about how the addition should read against the original house.

Structurally they are proper builds: real foundations, two lifts of masonry, floor structure, and a roof that has to marry into the existing. That is the work we came from, and it shows in the junctions.
