Single-Storey Rear Extensions

The single-storey rear extension is Bristol's favourite project: the kitchen-diner across the back of the house, opened to the garden with bifolds or slider.

Under permitted development a rear extension can usually go out three metres on an attached house (up to six with prior approval), which is exactly the depth a sociable kitchen-diner wants. The craft is in the junction: steels sized right, the old back wall opened cleanly, the new roof — flat with a lantern, or pitched to match — weathered into the house.

We build these while you live in the house: the old kitchen keeps working until the new one is nearly ready, and the knock-through comes as late as the programme allows.
